Massage therapist employment opportunity are abundant in Waco. There are several reasons for this; one is people are looking for ways to relax and second is lack of massage therapist in the market. There are a lot of qualified massager therapist but so many leave the business due to bad managers and lack of appreciation for massage therapist. Many spa, chiropractor offices and clinics (in my option) abuse their massage therapist by over working them, demanding they work for free, (doing laundry, answering the phones, changing sheets ext.) without being compensated for their time. That is why at Essential Rejuvenation Spa our massage therapist employment opportunity we pay our massager therapist for time between appointments. Even the scheduled 30-minute break between appointments are paid. This is the ethical thing to do for our staff. Your time is worth something so you should be paid. Ideally our LMT have 4-5 appointments everyday they work and have little down time to have to be paid for. But we do not live in an ideal world, so you have to compensate your staff. We pay up to $9.00 an hour for this down time with a very generous commission on each massage. This is the other issue I have with other spas. They advertise a high hourly rate but they are included an assumed tip amount and are paying the same rate for a Swedish massage as for a deep tissue massage. They typically don’t pay any additional for add on services such as hot stone or CBD. We because we pay a commission percentage of the service so when our massage therapist has a deep tissue with a hot stone add on, they make more. So, keep everything in mind when you are considering a new spa to call home. Click here to see our Indeed posting
